How much does it cost to rent the clubhouse?

Rental starts at $3,000 for the clubhouse and grounds. A 50% deposit is required to reserve your date, along with a refundable security deposit and a cleaning fee.

How many guests can the clubhouse hold?

The clubhouse holds up to 130 guests total, combining the indoor event room and gallery with outdoor space on the lawn or waterfront deck.

Do we need event insurance?

Yes. Renters are required to carry event liability insurance with a minimum of $1,000,000/$2,000,000 in coverage, including liquor liability, with proof due no later than 60 days before the event.

Can we bring our own caterer?

Yes, outside catering is welcome. A galley kitchen adjoining the main event room is available for your caterer to use for staging and warming food.

Clubhouse Rental

Since 2006 the Cape Fear Yacht Club has been providing a charming setting for weddings, receptions, private parties, business meetings, youth sailing training, and other events. The architectural award winning design*, based on a boathouse dream, provides a unique setting.

The 2,400 square foot nautical inspired coastal venue, conveys an informal elegance. The soaring open air gallery is flanked by a main event room on one side and a bar with galley kitchen on the other. When the adjoining rooms are opened via upward acting doors, the clubhouse can accommodate up to 130 people. For larger events, you may choose to entertain on the lawn and waterfront deck. The options are endless.

The Clubhouse is ideally located near the historic town of Southport and the beach community of Oak Island. It is conveniently set between Wilmington, NC and Myrtle Beach, SC to accommodate traveling guests.

Parking with handicapped access to clubhouse area is conveniently adjacent to the clubhouse.

Weddings and wedding receptions are one of our most popular uses of the clubhouse, alongside rehearsal dinners and private parties.
Submit a clubhouse rental request with your preferred date and event details and our event team will confirm availability and follow up.
We host a limited number of private events each year to balance club operations with member activities, so popular weekend dates — especially spring and fall — can be reserved 9–12 months ahead. We recommend inquiring as early as possible once you have a date in mind.
Rental starts at $2,000 (booked in 2026 and $3000 for weddings booked in 2027) for the clubhouse and grounds. A 50% deposit is required to reserve your date, along with a refundable security deposit, cleaning fee and fees for bartenders. Full pricing and terms are in our Clubhouse Rental Contract. Note that the rental provides access to the clubhouse for no more than 12 hours.
Yes. Renters are required to carry event liability insurance (minimum $1M/$2M - see contract) including liquor liability coverage, with proof of coverage due no later than 60 days before the event.
Renting the clubhouse includes a limited-term membership for your event, built into your rental fee — you don't need to already be a member to book.
All alcohol service is provided through the clubhouse's on-site bar; outside alcohol is not permitted per the current NC liquor license.
The CFYC does not provide catering services. We have a list of local caterers that work well in our facility, however you are not limited to our list. A galley kitchen adjoining the bar is available for your caterer to use for staging and warming food.
Yes, outside vendors are welcome for anything other than bar/alcohol service.
Clubhouse rentals are for private events only and may not be advertised publicly or sold as ticketed events — this keeps the experience private for you and your guests.
Yes, parking is available adjacent to the clubhouse, including handicap-accessible access.

Both. The 2,400 sq ft nautical-style clubhouse has an open-air gallery connecting a main event room and a bar/galley kitchen, plus a lawn and waterfront deck for outdoor ceremonies or overflow seating. There are lots of options for tenting the lawn and the deck.
Capacity is limited to 130 guests.
The club has a limited number of round, rectangular and high top tables available. Metal chairs are also available. Our event team can provide resources for renting different tables and chairs.
